Legacy Apple Tart

IMG_8911-apple-tart (2).JPG

It's Spring - not apple season, but local growers now have fancy winter warehouses that keep supplying us with fruit that seems as fresh as the day it was picked. When there are leftovers after "an apple a day", throw together this easy and lower calorie Apple Tart.

I call this a "legacy" recipe because it seems to have already been passed down / along several times. I've made my own adaptations - which includes easy food processor pastry. This works with a pie plate, a tart pan, a springform or you can go free-form / galette style.

Doggie Biscuits

Luka-glasses (2).JPG

Luka just marked her 10th birthday and her treat from the KB kitchen will be homemade doggie treats! I'm sharing two recipes that you may want to make for your favourite canine. The first are "Dog Breath Biscuits", and sad to say Luka is at times in need of these (wink). In theory, the fresh mint and parsley are supposed to do the trick. Luka loves them and is happy to perform her twirly dance to get one.

The second recipe - "Sweet Potato and Apple Treats" - is a newer one with fewer ingredients - faster if you are pressed for time.

Apple Clusters

I don't have an "apple family classic" to add to this "legacy collection" so I was attracted to something new.  What could be healthier than "apple pie" without the pastry?

Here is a terrific and easy recipe from a talented fellow blogger I met in Montreal. Try this! You'll like it!
